Tip #1: Tell others when you will stop smoking.

If you tell other people when that you’re going to quit smoking, then you will will be more motivated and committed. Ensure that you are surrounded by people with positive attitudes who want to see you succeed.

You don’t want to tell every single person you know as some people may judge you and make you feel bad about your current situation. So, be selective as to which people you inform of your intention to stop smoking.

Tip #2: Find out your inner reason.

Take some time off to reflect on the deep reason that you want to stop smoking. Obviously your health will be the main reason, but try going deeper and finding a reason or two beyond your health. Keep asking why until you get a reason that cant go any deeper.

Tip #3: Carry a water bottle.

Every time you feel the urge to smoke a cigarette, you need to find something to occupy your mind and body. Taking a big swig of water is enough for most people to get over than initial urge. In the beginning, this may seem hard, but you will soon get used to it.

Tip #4: Hang out with non-smokers.

One of the biggest reasons people smoke is because the people they hang out with are smokers as well. So, you want to end this cycle. Start to hang out with people who don’t smoke. Spend more time with non-smokers than smokers. You will feel more pressure not to smoke when you are with your non-smoking friends.

Tip #5: Do this for 21 straight days.

People can develop a new habit if they do something for 21 days in a row. That means after you quit for 21 days straight, it will be more natural for you not to smoke than it will be for you to smoke. Those 3 weeks won’t be easy, but that is the most difficult part of the process and, after that time, it start to get gradually easier.

How To Repair The Lungs After Quitting Smoking Using A Lung Detox

Something that really helped me when quitting smoking was to begin the repairing process to my lungs early on. Just knowing that I was doing something positive to my body was a great source of comfort and focus and I believe was a major factor in me stopping smoking for good!

So as well as quitting smoking I thought I’d try an inexpensive home lung detox. The lung detox was surprisingly easy to do but the effects were quite staggering so if you are thinking of doing it then prepare yourself for a shock. The cause of the cough is simply the tiny microscopic hairs known as cilia starting to do their main job which is sweeping out toxins, dust and particles from within the lung tissue. So this is why the mucus that you cough up will be discolored. The other cells that are damaged by smoke are the alveoli and these can take longer to repair. In fact there are some specialist doctors who believe that the alveoli never regain the same level of health in an ex smoker as that of someone who has never smoked. What I will say is that I’m convinced tha a lung detox has helped me in my quest to quit smoking for good.
